How To Eliminate Wasps From Your Yard

Wasps have long been the arch nemesis of summer gatherings. They are notorious for terrorizing people of all ages with unmatched aggression. Even though wasps contribute to nature by pollinating plants, they have earned a horrible reputation for their tenacious ability to wreak havoc on cookouts & picnics. The worst part about wasps is unlike bees, if a wasp stings you it lives to see another day. Combine that with the fact that they love to nest near our homes & you get a recipe for disaster.

Luckily there are a few tricks that will get rid of wasps without nuking your property with pesticides. We have diligently scoured the internet & compiled a strikingly simple list that will rid your home of wasp nests. Take a look & prepare to get rid of your neighborhood wasps!

Tip #1: Put Up a Fake Nest – Wasps are extremely territorial & rarely build nests where there’s already another colony. Take advantage of this by setting up a fake nest on your porch. You can buy one online or make a less aesthetically pleasing version by crumpling a paper bag & hanging it in your yard.

Tip #2: Deter Wasps From Your Yard – Wasps are attracted to pet food, trash & fruit. So seal your trashcans, only leave out what your pets will immediately eat & try to pick any fruit before it falls to the ground. If you can start growing plants that naturally repel wasps like eucalyptus, mint, wormwood & citronella.

Tip #3: Eliminate Existing Nests – All the preparation in the world is futile if a nest already exists in your yard. The only way you will live in peace is by destroying the nest, so do it right. Put on heavy clothing, arm yourself with insecticidal spray & attack the nest at dusk when the wasps are least active!
