What’s The Most Important Factor When Searching for Your Dream Sofa?

Is it comfort, design, shape, size, fabric, color, how many people it can seat? There are so many factors to consider!

Yesterday the sofa you see above, the Simena Sectional, was featured on the Design*Sponge blog as part of a hunt for the perfect sectional. As we were excited to see our sectional on the popular design blog, it got us thinking about finding your dream sectional, or even your dream sofa.

What’s the most important factor when you’re shopping for a sectional or sofa? From comfort level to size to colors and fabric, there are many bases to cover when on the search for your dream sofa or sectional.

Where you plan to display your sofa or sectional will significantly impact your decision. Space is likely a large contributor to the decision process. If the modern sectional or sofa you’re dreaming about is for design over comfort, then a different set of criteria will be floating through your mind. If it’s in an area where many people won’t be sitting on it, then size will depend mainly on the amount of space available. Comfort won’t be too big of an issue if the sofa/sectional is for show.

Space is another important thing to think about. Do you have enough space for a sectional or can you barely fit a sofa? The number of people you need to accommodate on a regular basis would also be an important consideration; if you live on your own you might not need a huge sectional, whereas a large family probably wouldn’t want a two- or three-seater sofa!

There are plenty of other factors to consider, such as colors and fabrics available, whether or not accents pillows are included, how the sofa/sectional will match your current decor, or how you’ll plan future decor around the sofa. Do you prefer a leather sofa or sectional, or fabric? How about a U-shaped sectional or an L-shape? Is a chaise lounge on one end a necessity so you or a family member can stretch your legs? Instead of a sectional, would you prefer a sofa set of a loveseat, sofa and chair?
