If you’ve taken an online tour of the House Beautiful 2011 Kitchen of the Year, then you’ve probably already seen the photo of the seating area above. If not, you should definitely check it out! Designed by Tyler Florence, the Kitchen of the Year has many interesting colors and components.
Including the mismatched upholstered chairs shown above. While the look above isn’t exactly what I would consider modern, I’m more interested in the idea of different upholstery. It appears that the two end chairs have the same upholstery, but the other four each have their own design.
One is striped, one is solid, one has a damask pattern and the fourth looks like a suzani pattern. How would you recreate this look in your home? Would you use the same mismatched method? With or without the matching end chairs? Or would you still mismatch the chairs but maybe keep the patterns in pairs?
The opportunities are endless and really personalized – so share your ideas with us in the comments!
