The Saarinen Dining Tables, a part of the Tulip Collection, are a well-known modern classic. Designed by Eero Saarinen in 1956, the Tulip Collection included a dining table, side and coffee tables and side and arm chairs. It is said that Saarinen designed the Tulip Table with a central base to provide more leg room for those seated at the table.
The images above each show a different way of utilizing the Tulip Table. The first two images pair the modern classic table with modern chairs, first the matching Tulip Chairs and then a set of Eames Plywood Chairs. The last two images show the Tulip Table paired with much more traditional dining chairs, both in shades of blue.
Which of the images above catches your eye first? Do you prefer the Saarinen table with modern chairs or the traditional chairs?

Beautiful table, I just wish there was a more affordable option for my clients on a budget.
