Christmas Lights as Decor – Yay or Nay?

Don’t be scared by the title of this post – we’re not getting ahead of ourselves and jumping to Christmas decor here at Inmod! The idea actually came about while browsing a home tour on Apartment Therapy this week.

The image above is from the home that was featured, and as you can see, they use holiday lights to frame a piece of art and then dangle across the perpendicular wall. When I was younger, I used a few strings of lights in my bedroom as part of my decor. I intertwined them through the bars of my headboard and footboard and absolutely loved the romantic feel they gave my bedroom.

Seeing this image in the home tour brought me back to my teenage years and got me thinking about using holiday lights in my modern decor now. What do you think about Christmas lights as part of your decor? Do you think it’s a great idea or do you think these lights should be solely reserved for the holiday season?
