A Kitchen Exposed

Yesterday we talked about organization and using shelving to assist with that. The example used, the Domino 7 Shelving Unit, is an open shelving unit that leaves your collectibles and accessories exposed to all that enter.

While it’s one thing to have vases and books on display in an open shelf in a living room or dining room, what do you think about having your kitchen’s pantry exposed through open shelving? The image above shows a modern kitchen that has this exact look.

I might consider this look if it were stylish dishes and glasses that were exposed, as they would add to the modern style of my decor. But saltines and garlic powder? I’m not sure if I would want the world to see that! The open shelving would be incentive to keep an organized pantry, but just as some things are better left unsaid, some things are better left unseen! At least that’s what I’m thinking – how about you?
