New Year’s Traditions

Once the clock strikes midnight and the New Year is here, many different cultures around the world have traditions that they follow to ensure they start off the New Year right.

As we know, the tradition in the United States is to watch the ball drop in Times Square as we countdown to midnight. According to this website, there are several other interesting traditions across the world. For example, in Spain, the tradition is to eat 12 grapes as the clock strikes midnight for good luck. In Denmark, people stand on chairs and jump off of them at midnight.
